The Approach Behind Selby&Co
I'm Tim Selby, Founder of Selby&Co, an owner-operated firm with a background in running complex hospitality businesses, where work had to be delivered cleanly, on time, and without disrupting day-to-day operations. That experience shapes how every project is planned and carried out.
The focus is simple: do the work properly, respect the space, and leave clients with finishes that last.
Homes
Most of Selby&Co’s work is in lived-in homes. Kitchens, cabinetry, woodwork, walls, and fitted elements are carefully resprayed or refinished to extend their service life and improve appearance and performance.
Clients choose Selby&Co because the process is calm and controlled. Rooms are properly protected, work is sequenced to minimise disruption, and communication is clear from start to finish. Many clients continue working from home while the work is carried out.
The aim is to deliver the feel of a new space — without the mess, cost, or upheaval of replacement.
Commercial
The same disciplined approach applies to commercial and care environments. Work is planned around service times, daily routines, and occupied spaces, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, safety, and continuity.
Whether working in a private home, a restaurant, or a residential setting, the principle is the same: respect the environment and the people using it.
How We Work
-
Clear preparation prevents problems later
-
Measured processes remove guesswork
-
Good finishes are built, not rushed
-
Design only matters if it stands up to daily use
Selby&Co exists to get more from existing spaces — through careful planning, skilled application, and finishes that hold their quality over time.
